Why Metal Display is Widely Used in Retail Displays

PDS Metal Display is a display system mainly made of steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. It helps showcase the product more effectively and maximizes space utilization through structural design, thereby improving the visual display function.

Metal has the ability to withstand heavy loads and maintain a stable structure, making it difficult to deform or damage. Unlike wood/acrylic displays, metal displays are more impact-resistant, moisture-proof, and corrosion-resistant. You don’t need to worry about the display system aging with environmental changes, and there’s no need for frequent replacements, thus reducing your long-term costs. Metal supports complex structural design, creates various shapes, and enables a more professional and functional display plan.

PDS metal displays, including metal display stands, Metal pegboard systems,  and Gridwall Display System, are widely used in retail environments such as supermarkets, retail chains, and hardware stores. These places need structural, scalable, and consistent display systems. The solutions help retailers organize merchandising within the display system in a clear, orderly way and maximize store space through efficient layout design.

Metal Display Systems & Types

We provide different display systems to meet different product types, store layouts, and retail needs

  • Metal wine display stand

Freestanding metal displays are widely used for promotional merchandising and branded in-store retail presentation.

Metal pegboard systems support adjustable hook merchandising for tools, accessories, and packaged products.

  • Metal Gridwall Display
    Gridwall Display System

Gridwall display systems are widely used for wall merchandising, retail product organization, and flexible store display layouts.

Features of PDS Metal Display

Strong & Durable

Reinforced metal structures provide long-term durability for heavy retail merchandising environments.

Corrosion Resistance

Metal displays can be resistant to corrosion after being treated with galvanized or powder-coated finishes.

Flexible Finishes

Available in multiple finishes like glossy, matte, semi-gloss, or satin to meet your brand requirements.

Cost-Effective for Scale

Metal displays have a long service life and can be used across multiple store rollouts, helping you save costs.

How We Develop Your Metal Display

Requirement Collection

We discuss your requirements with you and collect your product size, loading quantity and weight, order quantity, and budget, then we make the metal display design accordingly.

Concept & Structure Design

We collect your requirements and create a rough design based on your request. After you confirm, we will complete the structure design for production.

Engineering & 3D Drawing

Our 3D drawing can clearly show the metal display structure, shape, and color, so you can know what the metal display will look like before bulk production.

Material Selection & Quotation

As per your design and budget, we select the most suitable materials, such as metal tube, metal sheet, and metal wire, so you can get a fair price here.

Sample Production & Testing

We will complete the sample as per the 3D drawing, conduct the welding structure and surface-finishing tests, and finally show you the video for your review.

Mass Production & QC

Our QC team will do quality checks for every step of production, including metal cutting, shaping, welding, sanding, coating, assembling, and packing as per the standard process.

Materials Used in Metal Displays

Steel:
Steel can make the displays into a strong, stable structure. It comes with metal sheets and metal tubes. It can support heavy products and is not easy to bend.
Wire:
We use wire for displays that need to be lightweight and economical. It has an open structure, making it perfect for 360-degree product visibility.
Stainless Steel:
Stainless steel is a good choice for the humid retail environment due to its excellent corrosion resistance. Besides, it is also ideal for the high-end market because of its premium finish.
Aluminum:
We will select aluminum for the displays that need to be as light as possible. It is lightweight and easy to move around the stores.

Metal Display Finish Options

Powder Coating
Powder coating treatment is the most commonly used in steel displays. It has matte, glossy, satin, sand, and clear-coat finishes as options. It can protect the steel from rust and keep the surface durable and retail presentation consistent.

Brushed & Electroplated
Stainless steel usually comes with a brushed or electroplated finish, ideal for premium retail environments. It has common finishes like gold, chrome, rose gold, satin, and hairline.

Anodizing
The most widely used finish for aluminum displays is anodizing. It offers a clean metallic appearance and durable surface protection. It has champagne, silver, and black anodized finishes as an option.

PDS Metal Display Quality Inspection

Surface check: We inspect all the surface treatments to make sure there are no sharp edges, no burrs, no scratches, no bubbles, no coating defects, and no color difference.
Strength inspection: We inspect welding joints and structural connections to ensure there is no looseness, deformation, or weak welding points.
Sizes check: We measure all the sizes, including the hole diameter and shelf spacing, by caliper or tape measure to ensure all sizes are consistent with the confirmed drawing.
Installation test: We assemble each sample step by step and ensure no missing parts or screws, and all the parts are perfectly fit; the whole process is smooth.
Coating check: In order to check that the coating is not peeling, we conduct the coating adhesion test through knife scratches.
Packing check: We check whether all parts are properly separated within the package and conduct vibration, compression, and drop tests as required.

Metal Displays vs Wood Displays

Load Capacity & Structural Stability
Metal displays have a stable structure and can support heavy loads for long-term use, whereas wood displays are mainly used to load those light to medium items.
Environmental Performance
Metal displays are anticorrosive after powder coating and can maintain a good finish even with changes in temperature and humidity, while wood displays may change in material and surface under different retail conditions.
Store Types & Application Scenarios
Metal displays are commonly found in hardware stores, supermarkets, and retail chain stores, while wood displays are mainly used in clothing stores, sunglasses shops, gift and lifestyle stores.
Display Structure & Flexibility
Metal displays can create complex structures and multiple displays using metal wire, tube, and sheet, whereas wood displays can only produce panel-based structures.

Metal Displays vs Acrylic Displays

Structural Strength
Metal displays are strong and mainly used for heavy-load items and retail environments; on the other hand, acrylic displays place more emphasis on aesthetic presentation and are typically suitable for lightweight products.
Design Flexibility & Modular Construction
Metal displays could have flexible combinations by using metal wire, tubes, and sheet metal, and they are not easy to break even after repeated assembly, whereas acrylic displays are often made in a standard format.
Multi-Product Merchandising
Metal displays can support multi-product merchandising through hooks, shelves, baskets, and hanging bars within a single display stand, whereas acrylic displays are usually used as tabletop displays to make products stand out.
Retail Application
Metal displays are commonly seen in hardware and tool stores, grocery stores, and convenience stores, but acrylic displays are mostly used to show electronics and mobile accessories, jewelry, cosmetics, and skincare products.
